How this affects our recommendations

It doesn't. Every product recommended on this site is chosen based on its actual quality, performance, and suitability for the use case described. We do not accept payment for positive reviews or for placing specific products in our guides. Affiliate links are applied after the editorial selection is made, not before.

If a product that doesn't perform well happens to have a better affiliate payout than a product that does, we still recommend the better product. The commission is a way to keep the site running without subscriptions or paywalls - not a ranking mechanism.
