Overview
The Cressi Nepto is the minimum viable freediving instrument: it shows your depth, it shows your time. That's the whole product.
For a diver who just started and wants to know how deep they're going without spending $150 on a Newton or $350 on a D4f, it removes the barrier. It's accurate, it works, and it doesn't require any setup or configuration.
The upgrade motivation comes quickly: once you're doing structured sessions and want to track surface intervals, the Nepto's absence of that feature becomes a practical limitation within a few sessions. Most divers who buy this end up with a Newton within a year. If you're confident about staying in the sport, starting with the Newton saves that purchase cycle.
