Overview
The Beuchat Mundial Competition is aimed at the diver who expects to own one wetsuit for the next 5 years and use it weekly.
Beuchat has been manufacturing open-cell freediving wetsuits in France for longer than most competing brands have existed. The neoprene quality shows in two ways: the initial feel (softer, more supple than standard neoprene) and the long-term performance (the cell structure resists compression and maintains insulation value through years of use where cheaper neoprene loses its thermal performance).
The price premium over SEAC and Cressi is real and justified specifically for high-frequency divers. For a diver who goes in the water twice a week for years, the durability advantage translates directly to fewer wetsuit purchases. For a diver who dives monthly, the premium isn't recovered in the suit's lifespan.
