Overview
The Rob Allen Scorpia exists because one fin doesn't fit all feet, and European brands like Cressi and SEAC tend to run on the narrow side. For divers with wide or wide-medium feet who've fought with hotspots and pressure points in their first season, the Scorpia is the answer.
The Wide Foot Problem
Most freediving fin brands are sized and shaped for average-to-narrow European feet. Cressi and SEAC both run medium-narrow. Mares runs slightly wider but not dramatically so. If your foot is EE width or you have a high instep, the standard options cause problems: hotspots on the sides of the foot, pressure across the forefoot, and heel slippage when the heel is wider than the pocket.
Rob Allen pockets are cut wider. The toe box has more volume, the forefoot is broader, and the heel fits a wider range without the 'pinching at the sides' complaint that narrow pockets generate. The Blade
